The next course begins the week of Monday 13 February 2023

 

I have been working with The Florrie now for several years, my first ever class was here in March 2017! I am eternally grateful to them for giving me a start and how they have supported me throughout my journey to become a full time yoga teacher. 

 

So I am now delighted that they have invited me to put on three new courses at The Florrie, they are all as a result of the fall out from covid and lock down. If you have been affected in any way by covid, physically, mentally or emotionally then do get in touch and join us on these free 6 week courses.

Breathing Sessions: 

During these sessions I will teach you how to breathe more efficiently and effectively. My aim is to empower you to make a difference to your well being. We will explore:

 

  • How the respiratory system works

  • The science of the breath

  • How to open up and release the breathing muscles through simple yoga 

  • Techniques to help you absorb more oxygen 

  • A variety of breathing techniques to help you feel more energised and relaxed

  • Breathing techniques that alleviate anxiety and bring a sense of calm

  • Breaths for panic and overwhelm

  • Breaths to stimulate the energy 

  • Breathing techniques that work particularly well for long covid breathing difficulties 

 

Sleep Sessions: 

In these sessions I will give you advice on how to train yourself to sleep better through a variety of techniques including: 

 

  • Tips and advice/Sleep hygiene

  • A look at the science of sleep to aid an understanding of it

  • A little about the nervous system and how to calm it through breaths and yoga poses

  • Breathing techniques specific for sleep

  • Simple and gentle yoga poses to aid a good nights sleep

  • Yoga Nidra Meditation which translates to ‘Yogic Sleep’ that can aid deep rest

  • How to calm your mind when you are unable to sleep or when you wake up in the middle of the night and can’t sleep

  • Yoga for sleep

  • Meridian points

 

Meditation Sessions: 

During these sessions we will discuss and I will guide you through meditations on some of the following:

 

  • What is meditation?

  • The science behind the benefits of meditation 

  • Breath awareness

  • Bodily awareness

  • Awareness of the emotions

  • Awareness of the thoughts

  • Mantra mediation

  • Trataka/Candle Gazing
