Winter Solstice Yoga Workshop

Transitioning from Autumn to Winter, a time for turning inwards, withdrawing into stillness ready for the darker colder months.

The winter solstice brings the shortest day and longest night, a time for self reflection before the festivities to come. A time to contemplate on the year behind us and what we are grateful for.

I will guide you towards a deep connection to your body through sensation and your breath whilst  holding yin poses, we will also practice pranayama to prepare for a deep state of relaxation during a long Yoga Nidra.

Yin yoga is a practice that works especially well in winter so what better time than to embark on a deep dive 3 hour yoga session right on top of the winter equinox.

The actual yin yoga part will be about 90 minutes.

In this 3 hour workshop we will explore a yin sequence focusing on winter meridian pairs: kidney and urinary bladder. 

The kidneys and urinary bladder help to remove waste from the body, however when these energy lines are imbalanced we can experience the emotion of fear and weak will power and may even manifest as chronic anxiety. 

When in balance we are able to experience our will power and healthy ambition. A bladder imbalance may manifest as fear of change.

We will also be doing pranayama and a 30 minute yoga nidra for complete relaxation for our winter equinox theme.
